礼来公司已经与Precision BioSciences签订了研究合作和独家许可协议,以使用基因组编辑来开发针对遗传疾病的疗法。

礼来公司已经与Precision BioSciences签订了研究合作和独家许可协议,以使用基因组编辑来开发针对遗传疾病的疗法。该协议的主要计划和最初重点将放在杜氏肌营养不良症(DMD)上,该协议还涉及另外两个未公开的基因靶标。

礼来公司将利用Precision的ARCUS基因组编辑平台进行研究和开发,该平台来自称为I-Crel的天然基因组编辑酶,可用于DMD和其他遗传疾病的潜在体内疗法。作为交易的一部分,Precision将获得1亿美元的前期付款,礼来公司还将对Precision的普通股进行3500万美元的股权投资。此外,Precision有资格获得每种产品高达4.2亿美元的商业化里程碑付款。

在研究合作下,Precision将领导临床前研究和IND支持活动,而Lilly将承担临床开发和商业化的责任。礼来公司还将有权为此合作选择多达三个额外的基因靶标。

杜氏肌营养不良症是一种相当严重的性联遗传肌肉失养症。男性病患大约在4岁开始就会产生肌肉无力的症状,此后症状即会开始快速恶化。通常最先从大腿即骨盆肌肉开始萎缩,之后则是上臂肌肉。
