全血细胞计数(CBC)作为医生对病人进行初步诊断检查的一部分，是一项基本的常规检查。为了确保CBC的临床安全应用，所以需要可靠的生物变异(BV)数据来建立分析性能规范。研究人员的目的是使用一种严格的流程来定义CBC参数的BV，该协议符合由欧洲临床化学和实验室医学联合会提供的生物变异数据关键评估清单(BIVAC)。

研究人员使用ABX Pentra 80仪器（这仪器经过精确校准）对41名健康中国受试者(22名女性和19名男性)的血液样本连续6个月进行分析。所有样品进行了13个CBC参数的重复分析。在嵌套方差分析之前，对数据进行了离群值、正态性和方差齐性评估。计算性别分层的受试者内(CVI)和受试者间(CVG) BV估计值。

去除异常值后，每个受试者的剩余数据为442-484。女性/男性CVI估计值之间没有显著差异。除白细胞、中性粒细胞和淋巴细胞外，10个参数的平均值在性别之间存在显著差异，导致CVG数据在性别之间的分区。在大多数BV估计值和最近发表的代表欧洲人口的估计值之间没有发现显著差异。

研究结果表明，大多数BIVAC-依从性研究的BV估计是相似的。CBC BV研究应考虑血细胞周转时间和参与者的年龄分布。研究结果将有助于全球BV估计和未来的研究。
